Methods used for Robot Obstacle Avoidance in Difficult Environments
Abstract
Obstacle Avoidance is the method of avoiding obstacles without any collisions with them hence protect robot from any physical damages. Obstacle avoidance strategy and working of robot is greatly dependent on the detection of obstacles by sensors and corresponding response of robot. This article mainly deals with some very famous methods used for Obstacle Avoidance, like. Obstacle Restriction Method (ORM), Nearness Diagram obstacle avoidance algorithm, Vector Field Histogram (VFH) algorithm etc.
