Martin M Chambers defines leadership as ‘a process of social influence in which one person is able to enlist the aid and support of others in accomplishment of a common task.’ Hence a leader focuses on a goal and outcome, establishes direction, motivates and inspires. So he in the real sense, is the ‘maker or breaker’ of the institution.
